McAfee SafeBoot Port Control Overview

McAfee SafeBoot Port Control uses strong access control to enforce your endpoint security policy and prevents unauthorised use of removable devices that connect to serial, parallel, USB, Bluetooth, FireWire, IrDA, and other ports on PCs, laptops, and tablet PCs, including memory sticks, modems, removable hard disks, and more.

McAfee SafeBoot Port Control supports all port device classes and types and enables administrators to manage endpoint security and the kinds of devices that can and cannot be attached to the organisation's machines. It also has tools that quickly identify newly attached devices. By centrally managing access to port devices at both the class- and manufacturer ID-level, SafeBoot Port Control enables administrators to restrict the use of all removable devices or those from particular manufacturers.

McAfee SafeBoot Port Control perfectly complements and seamlessly integrates with McAfee SafeBoot Content Encryption, McAfee SafeBoot Device Encryption, and other McAfee SafeBoot technologies to provide a comprehensive, end-to-end data and device security solution. Also, through and the use of McAfee SafeBoot Management Center technology, McAfee SafeBoot Port Control offers central deployment, remote upgrades, policy management, a scripting tool, audit facilities, and policy synchronisation with Active Directory, Novell NDS, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and others.
